Mukteshwar sits at around 2,171m, so the single biggest factor is view: the best properties are perched on the ridge facing the Himalayan range and open up on a clear day to Nanda Devi and the Panchachuli peaks. Mukteshwar Dham and the temple ridge put you closest to the Shiva temple and Chauli ki Jali cliff viewpoint, the most central and walkable part of town.

Dhanachuli, a short drive above Mukteshwar, sits higher still with some of the clearest, least obstructed Himalayan views in the area.

Ramgarh and Satkhol, both nearby, are quieter orchard-belt villages if Mukteshwar itself feels too visited.
