This Privacy Policy describes how Fursat Farms Private Limited (CIN: U55101WB2023PTC266520), trading as Fursat ("we", "us", "our", "Fursat", the "Data Fiduciary"), collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use our website at fursat.fun and related services ("Platform").

This policy is published in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDPA"), the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 ("SPDI Rules"), and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

  • UPI ID or bank account details (for Host payouts)
  • Payment transaction records
  • Billing address

2.3 Location Data

  • Approximate location (city/state, derived from IP address)
  • Property addresses (for Hosts)

2.4 Device and Technical Data

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Device identifiers
  • Referring URLs

2.5 Usage Data

  • Pages visited, search queries, and interaction patterns
  • Booking history and preferences
  • Listing views and favourites

2.6 Communications Data

  • Messages exchanged between Guests and Hosts via the Platform
  • Customer support correspondence
  • Reviews and ratings

2.7 Sensitive Personal Data (SPDI Rules, 2011)

  • Passwords (stored in hashed form only)
  • Financial information (payment details processed by third-party payment processors — we do not store full card numbers)

3. Purpose of Collection

4. Consent

Under Section 6 of the DPDPA, we process your personal data based on your free, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent, obtained at the time of account creation or booking.

  • Consent is obtained through clear affirmative action (e.g., checking a consent box, clicking "I Agree").
  • You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing yogesh@fursat.fun or using the account settings on the Platform.
  • Withdrawal of consent is as easy as giving consent.
  • Consequences of withdrawal: If you withdraw consent, we will stop processing your data for the relevant purpose. However, this may affect our ability to provide services to you (e.g., we cannot process bookings without your identity and payment data). Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing done prior to withdrawal.

We may also process data without consent in the following circumstances permitted by Section 7 of the DPDPA:

  • Compliance with any law, court order, or government directive
  • Medical emergencies involving a threat to life
  • Responding to a security incident or breach

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data for third-party advertising or marketing.

6. Cross-Border Data Transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside India:

  • Supabase: Tokyo, Japan (ap-northeast-1)
  • Cloudinary: Global CDN
  • Vercel: Global edge network
  • PostHog: EU/US servers

Such transfers are made in compliance with the DPDPA and applicable notifications issued by the Central Government regarding permissible jurisdictions. We ensure that adequate safeguards are in place with each provider.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

Upon expiry of the retention period or upon withdrawal of consent (whichever is earlier), personal data will be erased within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Your Rights as a Data Principal

Under Sections 11–14 of the DPDPA, you have the following rights:

  1. Right to Access — You may request a summary of your personal data being processed by us and the processing activities related to it.
  2. Right to Correction — You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  3. Right to Erasure — You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  4. Right to Grievance Redressal — You have the right to file a complaint with our Grievance Officer or with the Data Protection Board of India.
  5. Right to Nominate — You may nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

To exercise any of these rights, email yogesh@fursat.fun with the subject line "Data Principal Rights Request". We will respond within 7 days of receiving a valid request.

9. Children's Data

In compliance with Section 9 of the DPDPA:

  • We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18 years of age.
  • We do not engage in tracking, behavioural monitoring, or targeted advertising directed at children.
  • If we become aware that we have collected data from a child without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly.

10. Data Security

We implement reasonable security practices and procedures in accordance with Section 43A of the IT Act and the SPDI Rules, 2011, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
  • Secure authentication via Supabase with hashed passwords
  • Role-based access controls for internal systems
  • Regular security reviews
  • Access logging and monitoring

While we take all reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach, we will:

  • Notify the Data Protection Board of India as required under Section 8(6) of the DPDPA
  • Notify affected individuals without undue delay
  • Take immediate remedial action
