Mukteshwar Temple & Chauli Ki Jali. A short drive away, this 350-year-old Shiva temple offers wide views of the Himalayan range. Next to it is Chauli Ki Jali, a cliff edge with an overhang popular for rock climbing and rappelling, or just for the expansive valley views.
Jim Corbett National Park. About a three-hour drive away is the Ramnagar gate, an entry point to India's oldest national park. The park is open from October to June and is one of the best places in the country to see tigers in the wild. Plan for a full-day safari.

By air: The nearest airport is in Pantnagar (PGH), which is a 3 to 4-hour drive away. By rail: The closest major railhead is Kathgodam (KGM), about a 2 to 3-hour drive. Taxis are readily available from the station. By road: Mukteshwar is well-connected by road. It is about 50 km from the regional hub of Nainital.
The weather is pleasant year-round, but the best times are from March to June and again from September to November, when the skies are clear and the Himalayan views are sharp. The monsoon season (July-August) can bring heavy rain and the risk of landslides on mountain roads. High-altitude destinations nearby may close due to snow from December to February.
