Around the stay

Things to do nearby.

The famous Buddha Park of Ravangla is a 15-minute walk away. You can leave in the morning and be there before the crowds. The town's market is also nearby. Ravangla itself serves as a good point to explore other parts of South and West Sikkim. Pelling, known for its ancient monasteries like Pemayangtse and Sanga Choeling, can be visited on a day trip. The drive there is scenic, winding through small villages and forests.

Logistics

Getting there.

The most reliable way to reach Ravangla is by road. The nearest major airport is Bagdogra (IXB) in West Bengal, about 124 km away. The drive from the airport takes four to five hours. The nearest major railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP), which is 122 km away and a similar drive time. Taxis and shared vehicles are available from both locations. Sikkim's own airport, Pakyong (PYG), is closer but flights are often diverted due to weather.

Seasons

Best time to visit.

The best time for clear mountain views is from October to mid-December. The skies are crisp and blue after the monsoon. Another popular season is from March to May, when the rhododendrons are in full bloom across the hillsides, painting the landscape in shades of red and pink. The monsoon months, from June to September, see heavy rain which can cause landslides and road closures.
