“What a gem of a place! We stayed at this property, tucked away just 1 km behind Raithal Village—the perfect base for trekking to Dayara Bugyal—and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. The host Mukesh bhai and his wife were so warm and welcoming, treating us like family right away. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and cared for every little detail. And oh, their friendly German Shepherd, Krypto—what a sweetheart! We spent hours playing with him in the lawn, and he never got tired before we did. The homestay itself is super cozy and calm, with stunning views of peaks like Gangotri and Sarikhand right from the property. It felt like a peaceful escape in the mountains. The food was simply delicious—home-cooked and full of flavor, using fresh local ingredients. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the beautiful lawn outside with a swing and Krypto's kennel added such a charming touch. If you're heading to this area, do yourself a favor and book here. “I stayed at this property for three nights, and it was a thoroughly pleasant experience. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with comfortable bedding and a simple, slightly eclectic décor. Warm bathing water is available at any time; especially welcome in the mountain cold. The food is healthy, home-cooked, and genuinely delicious, and the hosts are warm, friendly people. Mr. Mukesh knows the nearby treks and trails extremely well and is generous with advice. He also goes to great lengths to maintain a low carbon-footprint lifestyle, which shapes the ethos of the homestay; a much needed practice in the Himalayas with the increasing number of visitors. Gaonvasi offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, and the stay is made even more memorable by the company of Crypto, a spirited and affectionate German Shepherd. It is ideal for solo travellers or groups who can respect and appreciate the idea of staying in a family-run homestay.”

“Definitely the best place to stay if you are planning Dayara Bugyal Trek or visiting Raithal. The location is great. It’s calm, clean, serene and comfortable. The host is very accommodative to our requirements- be it early breakfast request or a bonfire. We enjoyed our stay for 3 days, had good home cooked meals and a great time with stargazing and playing with their cute dog Crypto.”

“I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, aesthetic, and clean stay with delicious home-cooked food served with so much love. 💛 We stayed here for two days during our first Dayara Bugyal trek, and the warmth of the hospitality itself is already inviting us to come back. The place is clean and cozy, and keeps you warm even in the cold weather. The washroom is not attached, but it is very hygienic, and hot water is available, which makes things comfortable. One of my favourite parts of the stay was spending time playing with the couple’s little baby and just sitting there, soaking in the beautiful mountain views. Those moments truly made the experience special.”
