HOW TO REACH FROM MUMBAI 3.5 hours direct (IndiGo, Air India - ₹4,000–7,500). 2-3 daily flights. Mumbai to Guwahati has good morning flight options. IndiGo's 6 AM departure gets you to Shillong by afternoon. Book 2-3 weeks ahead for best fares. BEST TIME: October–May. Best river clarity at Dawki: November–March. GETTING THERE: Fly to Guwahati (GAU). Delhi 2.5hrs, Kolkata 1hr, Bangalore 3.5hrs. WHAT TO PACK: Layered clothing, rain jacket, trekking shoes, power bank, ₹5,000–8,000 cash (UPI only works in Shillong). FOOD: Jadoh, Dohneiiong, Tungrymbai, Dohkhlieh.
