Kaziranga National Park holds two-thirds of the world's greater one-horned rhinos on a stretch of Brahmaputra floodplain, and it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. Plenty of sites will show you a long directory of "Kaziranga resorts" scraped from elsewhere. Fursat currently carries three properties in this region, all real, all bookable over WhatsApp, and we would rather describe exactly what they are than stretch the page to look like more.

One of the three sits at Kaziranga itself. The other two, in North Lakhimpur and Karbi Anglong, are in the wider region on the same touring route rather than at the park gate, and we say so plainly below so you can plan drive times honestly.

The whole property runs ₹42,000/night, or ₹7,000/night per room if you don't need all six, which makes it the natural base for a family group or a small safari party that wants to be near the ranges for the early-morning slots.

Kaziranga guest house, safari jeeps arranged is in Karbi Anglong, the hill district along the park's southern edge. It is the volume option: 17 rooms sleeping up to 34, ₹6,000/night per room, rated 4.4 from 5 reviews, and as the name says, the hosts arrange safari jeeps, which saves you the counter queue at the range gates.

How Kaziranga safaris actually work

The park is explored by jeep through its ranges, with Kohora (central) and Bagori (western) the most visited and Agaratoli in the east quieter and good for birding. Jeep safaris run in morning and afternoon slots; the elephant-back safaris are an early-morning, first-light affair and book out fast in season. Beyond the rhinos, the floodplain grasslands hold wild elephants, swamp deer, wild buffalo, and one of the densest tiger populations in India, though tigers here are famously hard to spot in the tall grass.

Base yourself as close to the Kohora or Bagori gates as you can if the morning slots matter to you. That is the case for staying at the park itself rather than commuting in.

Best time to visit Kaziranga

The park is open roughly November to April and closed through the monsoon, when the Brahmaputra floods the grasslands. November to February is the sweet spot: dry trails, cool mornings, and the best wildlife visibility after the post-monsoon grass is burned back. April can be hot but rewards birders. Do not plan a monsoon trip around the park; it will be shut.

Reaching Kaziranga and the wider circuit

Kaziranga sits on NH-715 between Guwahati and Jorhat. Jorhat airport is about 2.5 hours away and Guwahati about 4 to 5 hours by road; Furkating is the nearest rail junction. Karbi Anglong borders the park's southern flank, so the guest house there is a short drive from the ranges. North Lakhimpur is a separate leg, several hours further northeast, and makes sense if Kaziranga is one stop on a longer run toward Ziro and Arunachal rather than the whole trip.
