“A 6-room home near Kaziranga National Park in Assam, built with local bamboo work around an open courtyard. The central safari gate sits just down the road, and an orchid garden is a short walk past village tea gardens. Pramod leads the kitchen, preparing fresh Assamese meals and taking care of dietary preferences. Rooms come with king beds, air conditioning, and tea kettles.”
What's here
Morning begins on the covered porch of your cottage, where morning mist clears off the grass and tall mango trees surrounding the lawn. Green corrugated metal roofs peak above light walls and timber-railed verandas. Inside, the architecture pays direct homage to regional craft, featuring extensive woven bamboo work across the ceilings and interior panels. Each cottage is built for rest after long hours on forest trails, equipped with king beds, neat tiled bathrooms, individual air conditioning units, ceiling fans, and kettles for early morning tea. Across the six bedrooms, there are nine beds and six bathrooms in total, accommodating groups of up to 15 guests.
The broad central lawn connects every corner of the home, providing quiet spots for birdwatching right from the garden edge. Young fruit trees shade the grounds, while manicured beds of marigolds and native plants frame the paths. At the edge of the lawn, the dining space opens up under a tall pavilion framed in woven bamboo matting. Here, low floor seating with bolsters on patterned carpets allows groups to sit together under hanging bamboo lights, creating an easy setting to share safari notes over supper.
Meals at the home center on authentic Assamese dishes served fresh from the kitchen. The restaurant team, led by Pramod, takes time to explain traditional recipes and takes careful note of dietary sensitivities, including vegetarian preferences. While menu offerings focus on a simple daily selection rather than an extensive spread, every dish is cooked fresh. Safe drinking water is provided throughout your stay via a free UV and UF filtration system.
Guests frequently highlight the quiet atmosphere and attentive ground team. As one visitor noted, "Lovely cottages with a central green courtyard. Our cottage was warm, inviting and equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, fan and air conditioning and stable water pressure and temperature." Another guest shared, "The food they served in the restaurant was hygienic and tasty. We are pure vegetarians and the manager Mr.Pramod noted down our preference and made sure the food is cooked keeping the sensitivities of vegetarians in mind." Highlighting the local craftsmanship, one reviewer mentioned how the "resort really presented a natural environment particularly the extensive use of Bamboos & local architecture was striking!" For safari-goers, guided trips stand out, with another guest recounting, "our guide and driver we're excellent, they knew what species of bird it was from a great distance when all we could see was a brown dot in a tree."
