“The living room is amazingly warm with plenty of sunshine and a cute little dog name zse. Triple lovely for me because i came in winter and it’s freezing outside.
Local toilet is very clean and doesn’t smell at all. Thumbs up.

Zangla is an excellent base for exploring the Trans-Himalaya. From here, you can easily access some of Ladakh's most iconic attractions.
Pangong Tso: (160km, 4,250m) The iconic blue lake on the China border.
Nubra Valley: (via Khardung La) Explore sand dunes and see Bactrian camels at Hunder.
Tso Moriri: (220km, 4,522m) A quieter lake experience, known for its brown-headed gulls.
Hemis & Thiksey monasteries: A half-day Indus valley loop from Leh.
Magnetic Hill, Zanskar-Indus sangam, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib: A half-day west loop.

Getting there.
The nearest airport is Leh (IXL) — Kushok Bakula Rinpoche, with morning flights only. Weather diversions are common, so factor this into your travel plans. The nearest railhead is Jammu Tawi (700km), accessible via Srinagar by road. There is no rail service in Ladakh.

Leh: (0km) The regional capital for permits, fuel, hospitals, and ATMs.
Kargil: (220km from Leh) The Suru Valley hub, halfway to Srinagar.
Manali: (470km from Leh) Accessible via Rohtang/Atal and Baralacha, open June-October only.
Srinagar: (420km from Leh) Via Sonamarg & Zoji La, open April-November.
