Zangla is an excellent base for exploring the Trans-Himalaya. From here, you can easily access some of Ladakh's most iconic attractions.
The nearest airport is Leh (IXL) — Kushok Bakula Rinpoche, with morning flights only. Weather diversions are common, so factor this into your travel plans. The nearest railhead is Jammu Tawi (700km), accessible via Srinagar by road. There is no rail service in Ladakh.

The best time to visit Ladakh is during the summer months, from June to September. October sees road closures, with Leh-Manali shutting down in mid-October and Leh-Srinagar closing at the end of November.
