The nearest major railway station is Guwahati Railway Station (GHY), also around 500 km from the homestay. Similar to the airport, onward travel involves multiple bus or taxi legs.
From Tezpur, Assam, regular bus services and shared cabs are available directly to Tawang. This journey typically takes 8-10 hours, depending on road conditions.
Private taxis can be hired from Guwahati or Tezpur for a more direct and comfortable, though more expensive, journey to the homestay.
Please note the road to Tawang involves mountainous terrain and can be challenging; travel during daylight hours is recommended.
