“I had a great experience staying at this property in Kaza. The host (Tanzin cheela)are incredibly kind, supportive, and always willing to help with anything we needed. Their hospitality made us feel at home and added so much comfort to our journey. Truly one of the best homestays in Kaza. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area”
“Amazing Home stay. The owner Ms. Tanzin is very helpful, jolly and always has a smile on her face. She arranged food for us during late night as we checked in late. Our car broke down during our check out but she managed a mechanic to get it repaired. All staff members are so cordial and helpful. I highly recommend this homestay to all.”

Kaza is the district headquarters and the best base for exploring the main sights of Spiti.
Key Monastery is one of the most iconic sights in the valley. It's the largest monastery in Spiti, over 1,000 years old, and seems to cling to the side of a conical cliff. It’s a short drive from Kaza. Try to visit during morning prayers to hear the chanting.
Kibber village, at 4,270 metres, was once one of the highest motorable villages in the world. The drive itself is spectacular, with views across the valley towards Key.
Chicham Bridge is an engineering marvel. This suspension bridge, said to be the highest in Asia, spans a deep gorge and connects Kibber to the village of Chicham. The view down is not for the faint of heart.
Pin Valley National Park is a high-altitude park that turns surprisingly green in the summer months. It is also part of the natural habitat of the elusive snow leopard, though sightings are extremely rare.
Langza is famous for its towering Buddha statue overlooking the valley and its abundance of marine fossils. You can spend an afternoon searching the scree slopes for ammonites, remnants of when this high desert was the Tethys Sea.
Spiti Valley is remote, and the journey is a significant part of the experience.
By Air: The nearest airports are Bhuntar (KUU) in Kullu, about 220 km away via the Kunzum Pass, and Shimla (SLV), about 410 km away. The Bhuntar route is shorter but only open from June to October.
By Rail: The nearest major railhead is in Chandigarh. From there, you can take a bus or taxi. The historic toy train runs from Kalka to Shimla (410 km from Kaza), which is a scenic but slow option.
By Road: There are two main road routes. The route from Manali (200 km) via the Kunzum Pass is the shorter and more dramatic of the two, but it is only open from June to October. A 4x4 vehicle is strongly recommended. The longer route from Shimla (410 km) via Kinnaur is open for more of the year (typically April to November) and allows for more gradual acclimatization. Kaza has the main market, ATMs, and fuel station in the valley.
The best time to visit depends on the road you take. From May to October, the weather is pleasant, and the road from Manali via Kunzum Pass is open, allowing for a full circuit. This is the main season for visitors. From November to April, the Manali road is closed due to snow. The valley is still accessible from the Shimla side, offering a starker, quieter experience with a high chance of snow.
