March through June brings clear blue skies, warmer days, and snow-melt running through the mountain streams. This summer window provides easy walking weather across the valley floors and open ridges.
September through November delivers crisp air, clear horizontal sunlight, and sharp mountain vistas right after the rains clear. October and November are especially clear for viewing high snow lines.
Monsoon season arrives in July and August, bringing heavy rainfall, thick fog hanging in the tree canopy, and frequent landslide delays on National Highways 3 and 21. Winter from December through February brings dropping temperatures and heavy snowfall to upper elevation sections.
