“A simple homestay in East Sikkim, near Gangtok. The location is the only good thing, as one guest noted. Rooms are small, some with broken doors, and the bathrooms are often dirty. The service is reported as poor, and cleanliness is an issue. Consider this a place to rest your head, close to the city.”

What's here
The homestay offers simple rooms, but some guests have reported problems. "Rooms are to small & bathroom also to much dirty," one guest wrote. "Matress is filthy...Blanket seems to be unwashed from the day they started the hotel." Another described the washrooms as "like a chawl type washroom". Many reviews mention dirty rooms and bathrooms. Some rooms have broken doors, and the phones often don't work. The TV channels are sometimes expired.

Gangtok is the hub for exploring East & West Sikkim. From here, you can easily access:
Tsomgo (Changu) Lake (40km from Gangtok) – a beautiful high-altitude lake. Requires a permit. Note that it's frozen in winter.
Rumtek Monastery (24km from Gangtok) – the seat of the Karmapa.
Yumthang Valley (permit needed) – famous for its "valley of flowers." Requires a North Sikkim permit.
Pelling's Pemayangtse & Sanga Choeling monasteries – a day trip from Gangtok.
Goecha La trek (ex-Yuksom) – for experienced trekkers.
Logistics
Getting there.
Nearest airport: Pakyong (PYG), 30km from Gangtok. However, flights are weather-dependent. Bagdogra (IXB), 124km away, is the more reliable airport. It's a 4-hour drive.
Nearest railhead: New Jalpaiguri (NJP), 122km away, followed by a road journey.
The best time to visit Sikkim is during the shoulder seasons. March to May offers rhododendrons in bloom, while October to mid-December provides clear skies. Note that the monsoon season shuts down North Sikkim roads.
