Sherpa Homestay, Dhotrey has one of the most breathtaking views I have ever experienced — truly No. 1. No other homestay can beat this view. Waking up to the mountains was magical. The food was really good, homely, and comforting, especially after a long day. This place is also perfect for trekkers, and the room heater provided was extremely helpful in such cold weather. I would specially like to appreciate the owner, who was very understanding, supportive, and respectful. When we raised concerns about the unhygienic room and washroom, he genuinely listened to us, accepted our feedback, and helped us move to another stay the very next day. Also, an aged Amma there was very warm and kind — her presence felt comforting. However, I sincerely want to bring some important concerns to the owner’s attention: Rooms & Washrooms cleanliness and hygiene were not up to the mark Staff behavior was rude and unprofessional Staff refused to carry luggage without asking for extra payment The entrance is extremely narrow, which makes luggage handling difficult These issues really affected our overall comfort and experience, despite the property’s huge potential. With such an unbeatable view and a genuinely helpful owner, improving staff behavior, hygiene, and basic service etiquette can make Sherpa Homestay truly exceptional. I hope the owner takes this feedback positively, because this place deserves to shine as much as its view 🌄

Kanchanjunga view from the homestay rooftop is amezing. Food was good. Suraj bhaiya is a very understanding and helpful person. But the staffs refused to carry our luggage without money. Rooms could have been better.

Though rooms could be better but this is the only homestay which offers kanchenjunga view as well as sunrise from it's rooftop. If you don't get booking here, just avail a random homestay and if you are fit enough then you can go for a 5 min Trek to reach Dhotrey Watch Tower for Kanchanjunga view. Or else just walk few metres towards rimbik and you may find a clear view of Kanchenjunga depending on weather.
