We had a truly wonderful 9 day stay at Hills Abod. The location is simply stunning, surrounded by the most scenic views all around. The property is spotless, and the food is simple, wholesome, and cooked with so much love. The host went out of his way to prepare dishes that weren’t even on the menu, and the portions were always more than generous. What made our stay truly special were the people — so genuine, warm, and ever-smiling. Belnity, Sariosstar, Pintegan, and Ibah (hope I’ve spelled the names right) were always cheerful and ready to help. The host even refused to take payment for a few clothes we had given for washing — a small gesture that spoke volumes about their kindness and hospitality. A heartfelt mention to James the host, who went the extra mile to get us the famous Lakadong turmeric — something we’ll always remember with gratitude. To top it all, his wife paid us a visit and even surprised us with a thoughtful gift as a thank-you gesture for staying with them — such warmth and generosity truly touched our hearts. It genuinely felt like a home away from home. James and his wife are wonderful hosts, and I can’t recommend Hills Abode enough to anyone visiting Shillong.

Hills abode is a beautiful and quaint homestay with a breathtaking view. It captures the essence of Shillong with warm and kind staff members who are ready to step beyond comfort to help you out. Special shout out to Ibah, who was so polite and she definitely made the stay more comfortable. James, the owner of the property, was consistently available and ensured the ease of our stay. As it was my partner's birthday, James also arranged for a lovely birthday cake. The room and the bathroom were very clean, very pretty and it had all the necessary amenities. The breakfast was also great. Definitely missing the view. Looking forward to visiting again!

I chose Hills Abode after reading all the positive reviews and it turned out to be exactly as described. The approach road is a bit narrow and those not used to hilly terrain might find it tricky to drive, but since I am familiar with such roads, I didn’t face any issues. The view from the property is simply awesome. The attendant, Sil, was very helpful and attentive. The food served was homemade, tasty and hygienic. Room was comfortable. Overall, it was a wonderful and satisfying stay.
