What's here
"I came to know this place initially from the hotel owner in Leh. He mentioned that the owner of Stone palace is very good host and is also a guide. I visites the place first time in aug 2023 with friends and it was a place like a village of kung fu panda movie which is not known on the normal route. So I came again with my family in May 2023 end. You have to climb up few meters on the foot road to reach the place. Stone palace is one of the finest home stay/hotel hosted by Mr. Hussain. He explained the complete village with its people, geography, food, construction skills, support to Indian Army & so on... He is one of the finest host I have ever met. I recommend this property to everyone except for the people who has some trouble in walking as the place is at some height and you need to walk there without any assistance of vehicles. Food served is locally grown veg food and suits the weather there. Turtuk also has a great history to know. The staff is also very helpful. We also saw the old timer cold storage, war bunkers, stone carved kitchen utensils. More to see and experience and less to write here. I thank Mr. Hussain for his great hospitality." "No doubt the best play here for a homely stay with mesmerising views. Mr. Gulaam Baig the owner is a very knowledgeable person and briefed us about the wonders of the village. His son Muza is super friendly and gave us an excellent tour of his heavenly village. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! 8 July 2025" "We stayed here for one night on our trip through Ladakh and really liked it. The accommodation is in the quiet upper part of the village. It can only be reached on foot via a path up the slope. We had help with our luggage. The room was comfortable and we especially enjoyed the breakfast. Thanks to the owner for all the information about the border region to Pakistan and the exciting tour of the village. Apricots and mulberries straight from the tree simply taste better :-) WE would have liked to stay longer." "This is a great place. Stayed there in August 2022. Rooms are good and the hosts are very gracious. Mr. Hussain took us to a few places around and he was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend you speak to him and request him to walk you through the history of Turtuk. It is worth hearing. He and his wife cooked us some really amazing Balti cuisine dishes. They were awesome."
