Mukteshwar Temple and Chauli Ki Jali are the town's main landmarks. The 350-year-old Shiva temple is a short walk from the main road, and just behind it is Chauli Ki Jali, a cliff edge with sweeping views of the Himalayan peaks. It's a popular spot for rock climbing and rappelling, or just watching the sunset.
Jim Corbett National Park, India's oldest national park, is a few hours' drive away. The park is famous for its tiger population. Safaris can be booked at the Ramnagar gate. The park is open from October to June and remains closed during the monsoon.
Nainital, the region's main lake town, is about 50 km away and makes for a good day trip for boating on the Naini Lake or walking along the Mall Road.

The best time to visit Mukteshwar is from March to June and again from September to November. During these months, the skies are clear, offering sharp views of the snow-capped peaks, and the weather is pleasant for walks and sightseeing.
The monsoon season, from July to August, brings heavy rain, and the risk of landslides can make road travel difficult. Winters, from December to February, are cold, with occasional snowfall that can sometimes block roads to higher-altitude areas.
