“Amazing Experience at this property, Meghalaya. Recently, I visited Dawki with my family and stayed at this property for one night. Although it wasn't a full day, the experience was absolutely awesome! A special mention goes to the owner (Madam) — her behaviour and hospitality were truly remarkable. She is incredibly humble, polite, and genuinely caring. ...”

Pynursla is a good halt between the region's main sights. The living root bridges are a worth seeing. The famous double-decker bridge in Nongriat is a challenging but rewarding trek down 3,500 steps.
Near Cherrapunji (Sohra), you can explore the Mawsmai and Krem Phyllut caves. These limestone caves offer a glimpse into the region's unique geology, though some sections can be narrow and wet.
The town of Dawki, on the Bangladesh border, is home to the Umngot river. Between January and March, the water runs so clear it looks like boats are floating on air.
Mawlynnong, often called Asia's cleanest village, is a short drive away. You can walk through its tidy lanes and climb the Riwai sky walk, a bamboo viewpoint offering views over the plains of Bangladesh.
Don't miss Nohkalikai Falls, India's tallest plunge waterfall. At 340 metres, its scale is immense, especially during the monsoon months.
By Air: The nearest major airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati (GAU), about 100km from Shillong. It’s a 3-4 hour drive from the airport. A smaller airport is at Umroi near Shillong (SHL), with limited flights primarily from Kolkata.
By Rail: The nearest railway station is in Guwahati. There is no rail connectivity to Meghalaya itself. From the station, you can hire a taxi for the journey to Shillong and onward to Pynursla.
By Road: Shillong is the central road hub for the Khasi Hills. Pynursla lies on the main road connecting Shillong to Dawki (95km). Cherrapunji is about a 2-hour drive from Shillong (53km). Taxis are readily available from Shillong or Guwahati.
The best time to visit the Khasi & Jaintia Hills is from October to April, when the weather is dry and pleasant. The skies are clear, and all attractions are accessible. The monsoon season, from June to September, brings some of the heaviest rainfall in the world - over 10,000mm. While this makes the landscape incredibly green and the waterfalls thunderous, some caves and trails may be closed.
