A look around
What's here
Morning starts early here, around six in the morning, when the fog sits thick across the valley floor and the white ridge of Kanchenjunga emerges above the cloud layer. Concrete stairs lead up from the lower parking driveway through rows of green tea bushes to the main building. All 3 bedrooms sit on the upper tier facing east over the hill. Each bedroom comes with an attached bathroom equipped with a geyser for hot water, basic wooden bed frames, and large glass windows that catch the morning sun. Glass doors open directly onto a shared outdoor balcony running along the front of the home, offering seats high above the valley. Food is central to daily life at the home. All three daily meals - breakfast, lunch, and dinner - are prepared fresh by host Ujjwal daju and his kitchen team and are included in the rate. Plates are served warm with local home-style cooking using fresh market ingredients. When evening temperatures drop in late autumn or winter, Ujjwal daju lights a wood campfire in the yard before guests even ask, creating a warm place to gather outdoors. For walking, a narrow dirt forest trail begins right at the edge of the property and winds down through trees to the nearest mountain village down the hill. Two resident dogs, Charlie and Pinky, live on the grounds and routinely join visiting guests and their pets on trail walks. Guests can also walk through the host's small private tea garden, see how tea leaves are gathered, and buy bags of locally processed tea leaves directly from Ujjwal daju to take home. Guests who stayed here shared their exact impressions: "The food here was way too good, each meal was prepared with fresh materials and tasted amazing." "In the cold evening when we were shivering, Ujjwal daju arranged a campfire before asked for." "There is a small forest trail from the homestay that leads to the nearest village down the hill." "My pet beagle Rena enjoyed a lot with Charlie and Pinki Didi." Amenities confirmed on site include Wi-Fi connection, power backup, parking at the base of the house, room heaters provided on request, attached bathrooms in every room, and pet-friendly access across the yard and common spaces.

It was a very short trip of 2 days and 1 night. The day was rainy and chillingly cold. But the warmth of the hospitality and care was remarkable. In the cold evening when we were shivering, Ujjwal daju arranged a campfire before asked for. The homestay is pet friendly. My pet beagle Rena enjoyed a lot with Charlie and Pinki Didi (2 pet dogs of the homestay)....

Rooms are not the top class but the hospitality makes over. All rooms have breathtaking views to be enjoyed from blacony. Food quality is excellent in terms of presentation and taste. There is a small forest trail from the homestay that leads to the nearest village down the hill. It was a great experience overall.
