Guwahati Airport (GAU) is 100km away and serves as the main flight connection point for the region, requiring roughly a 3-hour drive along National Highway 6. Shillong Airport at Umroi (SHL) is closer at 30km, but operates limited regional flights primarily out of Kolkata, with schedules heavily subject to cloud cover and mountain weather.

Guwahati Railhead sits 100km away down the highway, operating as the nearest railway terminal since Meghalaya has no rail lines within state borders.

Local transit centers around Police Bazar in central Shillong. Umiam Lake is 17km north along the highway toward Guwahati, making it a convenient sunset stop. Cherrapunji sits 53km south for full-day waterfall loops, while the border town of Dawki is 95km south along winding mountain roads.
