A look around
What's here
Mornings start with cool mountain air against the stone facade and quiet sunlight filtering through wide glass windows. The double-storey structure combines natural stone ground walls with clean white upper walls topped by green gable roofs. Inside, sloped timber rafter ceilings give the upper bedrooms the feel of a hill cabin, while ground floor rooms open through sliding glass doors directly toward a neat grass strip outside. The home holds 7 bedrooms equipped with 8 beds in king, queen, and twin layouts, accommodating up to 16 guests across family groups and traveling companions. Each bedroom connects to its own private bathroom with standard wall-mounted geysers, glass shower enclosures, and dark stone counters. Furnishings are kept straightforward and uncluttered - low wooden bed frames, side tables, wall-mounted televisions, and armchairs for reading by the window. Daily operations are run on-site by manager Aminul Hoque and his staff, who prepare hot tea and coffee on call and arrange home-cooked vegetarian meals. Guests often mention the care taken by the team. One guest noted, "The place is very clean and clearly very well maintained." Another reviewer shared, "Manager Aminul stood out for his polite and professional behavior." For groups exploring the wider Khasi Hills, the staff also arranges dedicated vehicles and drivers for multi-day trips. As one traveler wrote, "Huge shoutout to the manager Mr Aminul Hoque and his whole team for their hospitality."

Logistics

Getting there.

Guwahati Airport (GAU) is the primary air entry point, located 100 kilometers away, which translates to a three-hour drive along National Highway 6.

Shillong Airport (SHL) at Umroi is 30 kilometers from the home, offering limited flights primarily connected to Kolkata, subject to local weather conditions.

Guwahati Railway Station is the nearest railhead, situated 100 kilometers north, as Meghalaya currently has no rail infrastructure of its own.

Local transit within Shillong relies on yellow-and-black city taxis or shared Sumos, while day trips to Cherrapunji (53 km) and Dawki (95 km) require booking a private car for the day.

Seasons

Best time to visit.

October through April brings dry weather, blue skies, and clear ridge visibility across the Khasi Hills. Temperatures remain cool to pleasant, making it ideal for sightseeing and long drives.

June through September brings heavy monsoon rainfall. While Shillong town remains walkable, rain can obscure canyon views, and roads to Cherrapunji or Dawki require careful driving.
