The home is a good starting point for exploring the Dharamshala and McLeodganj area. The Tsuglagkhang Complex, the official residence of the Dalai Lama, is a centre of Tibetan culture and a place of quiet contemplation. It’s a short drive from the property.
For those looking for a walk, the Triund trek is a popular day hike. It’s a four-hour walk up to a ridge that offers a wall-of-snow view of the Dhauladhar range. The trail starts from near McLeodganj. It’s best to start early in the morning to make it back before dark.

By Road: Dharamshala is well-connected by road to cities like Delhi and Chandigarh. The drive into the hills is scenic but involves winding mountain roads.
Best time to visit.
The best months to visit are from March to June, when the weather is pleasant and the snow from winter is melting. A second window opens from September to November, offering clear skies and crisp mountain air after the monsoon. The monsoon months of July and August see heavy rainfall and an increased risk of landslides on the highways. Winter, from December to February, brings cold temperatures and snowfall in the upper reaches.
