Nearest airports: Leh (IXL) is 150km away, a drive of 5-6 hours over the Khardung La pass (5,359m). A 4x4 vehicle is recommended for this route.
Nearest railhead: Jammu Tawi is 750km away. There is no direct rail link to Leh; travel is typically by air to Leh.
Road hubs: Leh is the primary road hub, 150km from Nubra via Khardung La. The village of Hunder, known for its sand dunes and camels, is just 7km from the house. Petrol stations are available in Diskit and Sumur; it's advised to fill up your tank before travelling further into the valley.
