“We absolutely loved this place. We stayed for one night with family and honestly it exceeded our expectations. We were a bit hesitant because we saw the google reviews but honestly they didn’t make sense at all because what we encountered was completely different. The food was really good. The rooms were spacious and clean and very modern. The staff were fri...”

“The place is stunning! It is located between the hills of Cherrapunji making the views gorgeous. I was here in February and it is one of my favourite places to stay through my travel years. The staff is extremely courteous, hospitable and warm. They took care of every need with so much grace. The rooms are located beside a small stream and the room feels ...”
“The property is beautifully located in a remote area, offering a very scenic and peaceful experience. While mobile network connectivity is limited, you can find some signal at a few spots within the property. The food was good and enjoyable, and the staff provided helpful service. Driver accommodation is available at an additional cost, though I'm not sure a...”
“The place has provided what it had promised. A nice retreat into nature and escape from the hustle. It was enjoyable until we realised network connectivity is so bad that you cannot even call for emergency purpose. We would get a flicker of network by the pool or near the bar. On top of the network issues, we were also a bit disappointed by the fact that we ...”
The Khasi & Jaintia Hills are a landscape of deep gorges, living bridges, and tall waterfalls. From the home, you can drive to some of the region's most well-known sights.
The living root bridges are a short drive and a long walk away. The famous double-decker bridge at Nongriat is at the bottom of a 3,500-step descent into the valley, a rewarding trek for those with good fitness.
Near Cherrapunji, you can explore the Mawsmai and Krem Phyllut caves. These are limestone cave systems, some lit and easily accessible, others requiring a guide for a more adventurous exploration.
The Umngot river at Dawki, near the Bangladesh border, is about a 3-hour drive. Between January and March, the water runs so clear it looks like boats are floating on air.
Mawlynnong, often called 'Asia's Cleanest Village', is a small, well-kept Khasi village with a sky walk made of bamboo that offers views over the plains of Bangladesh.
Nohkalikai Falls, India's tallest plunge waterfall at 340 metres, is also nearby. It's most powerful during the monsoon, but visible year-round.
By Air: The standard airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati (GAU), about 100km from Shillong. From Guwahati, it’s a 3-hour drive to Shillong, and then another 2 hours to the Cherrapunji area. A smaller airport at Umroi near Shillong (SHL) has limited flights, mostly from Kolkata.
By Rail: Guwahati is the nearest major railway station. There is no rail network in Meghalaya. From the station, you can hire a taxi for the 5-hour journey to Cherrapunji via Shillong.
By Road: Shillong is the main road hub for the region. The home is a 2-hour drive from Shillong on a winding but scenic road.
The best season to visit is from October to April, when the skies are clearer and the weather is dry and pleasant. The monsoon, from June to September, is intense, with Cherrapunji receiving over 10,000mm of rain. During this time, some caves and waterfalls may be closed, but the landscape is a brilliant, unmatched green.
