What about why stay in a homestay instead of a hotel in gangtok?

Sikkimese hospitality is built around food, and a home kitchen does phagshapa, gundruk, and sael roti in a way a hotel restaurant menu rarely bothers to. Hosts here are also a better source than any app for which monastery visit or viewpoint is worth the drive on a given day, Gangtok's weather and road conditions change fast at this altitude.

What about 1. [1-bedroom whole-property suite with panoramic views, gangtok](/listings/hilltop-loft-suite-w-180-views)?

A single premium suite rather than a multi-room home, a fit for a couple wanting the widest view on this list rather than the most space.

What about 2. [21-bedroom whole-property stay in gangtok](/listings/celosia-hotels-for-rent-in-gangtok-sikkim-india-airbnb)?

The largest property on this list by a wide margin, sized for a big group or an event rather than a typical family trip.

What about 3. [14-bedroom whole-property homestay with high-speed wifi, gangtok](/listings/homestay-w-home-meals-and-high-speed-wi-fi-sikkim)?

Reliable wifi is worth calling out specifically in the hills, this one leads with it alongside home-cooked meals.

What about 4. [7-bedroom homestay in central gangtok](/listings/gangtok-hotel-with-delicious-food-and-kind-staff)?

Consistently mentioned for the food and the staff specifically, a solid mid-sized pick near the town centre.

What about 5. [5-bedroom homestay with nepali home cooking, gangtok](/listings/homestay-w-delicious-nepali-food-and-views-sikkim)?

Nepali-Sikkimese home cooking is the specific draw here, a smaller property built around the kitchen more than the room count.

What about 6. [22-bedroom whole-property retreat with a pool, gangtok](/listings/hilltop-retreat-w-pool-and-mountain-views-gangtok)?

The only property on this list with a pool, a genuinely rare amenity at Gangtok's altitude, alongside a restaurant on-site.
