BEST TIME: October–May. Best river clarity at Dawki: November–March. GETTING THERE: Fly to Guwahati (GAU). Delhi 2.5hrs, Kolkata 1hr, Bangalore 3.5hrs. WHAT TO PACK: Layered clothing, rain jacket, trekking shoes, power bank, ₹5,000–8,000 cash (UPI only works in Shillong). FOOD: Jadoh, Dohneiiong, Tungrymbai, Dohkhlieh.
