By rail: The most convenient major railhead is Chandigarh (CDG), with connections to all major Indian cities. Pathankot is another option. From the station, a taxi is the best way to reach Chintpurni.

By road: The town is well-connected by road to cities like Chandigarh, Delhi, and Dharamshala. State-run and private buses ply these routes regularly.

The best months to visit are from March to June, before the monsoon, and from September to November, after the rains have cleared. The weather is pleasant during these periods. The temple town is especially busy during the Navratri festival, which happens twice a year.
