Best time to visit.
October through April brings clear blue skies, crisp mountain air, and wide views across the Khasi Hills. December and January are particularly cold, with evening temperatures dropping into single digits, making warm layers and room heaters essential. The monsoon season from June through September transforms the region with heavy rainfall and rising waterfalls; while Shillong remains walkable, day trips to deep valley viewpoints require careful timing around rainstorms.
