By Rail: The nearest major railway station is Pathankot (PTK). From there, it is a 3-4 hour drive by taxi or bus up to Dharamshala.

By Road: Dharamshala is well-connected by overnight buses from Delhi and Chandigarh. The home is a 5-10 minute walk from the main Dharamshala ISBT bus stand.

The best months to visit are from March to June, when the weather is pleasant. September through November offer clear skies after the monsoon, with sharp views of the mountains.

July and August are the peak monsoon months, which can cause landslides on the highways. The winter months, from December to February, are cold, and there can be snowfall in the upper reaches of Dharamshala and McLeodganj.
