The area is best for walking and slowing down. From the home, a short walk leads to a viewpoint about a kilometre away. For longer day treks, guests often visit Raghpur Fort for its 360-degree views of the ranges, or walk to the nearby Balo Temple.
The home is also a good starting point for exploring the wider Kullu region. The main road hub of Manali is a few hours' drive away, offering access to the Hadimba Devi temple, the cafes of Old Manali, and the Vashisht hot springs. The Atal Tunnel, a 9km-long high-altitude marvel, provides year-round access from the Kullu valley to Lahaul, opening up a different landscape entirely. The Spiti loop, a more rugged adventure through Kaza and Ki monastery, is also accessible from Manali between June and October.
By Air: The nearest airport is Bhuntar (KUU) in Kullu, about a 2-hour drive away. Chandigarh (IXC) is the most reliable all-weather airport, though it is a long 8-9 hour drive from there. Shimla (SLV) has very limited and weather-dependent flights.
By Rail: The nearest major railhead is Chandigarh. From there, you can hire a taxi for the rest of the journey. The heritage toy train from Kalka to Shimla is a scenic option if you are travelling via Shimla, but it is not the most direct route to the Jibhi area.
By Road: The home is accessible by road. The drive from Chandigarh or Shimla takes most of a day. Roads in the Himalayas are narrow and winding; expect any 100km journey to take between 4 to 6 hours.
The best seasons are from March to June, when the snow melts and the orchards are in bloom, and again from September to November, for clear skies and crisp mountain air. The monsoon months of July and August can bring heavy rain and landslides on the national highways. December to February sees snowfall in the upper reaches, which can sometimes block local roads.
