A look around
What's here
The sun sets early in the Khasi Hills. By 5pm in winter, the roads are dark, and arriving here feels like finding a warm, well-lit point in the quiet. This is a newly built, multi-story home with a simple, clean finish. The building is white with a metal roof, set against the green of the surrounding hills. The home has six rooms in total, available to book individually. Each room has an attached bathroom with a geyser for hot water, and its own private balcony. Some rooms have king beds, others have twin beds. The feel is straightforward and uncluttered. A complimentary breakfast is included with your stay. The home has Wi-Fi, on-site parking, and power backup for the frequent monsoon cuts. As one guest, Chandan, put it, "The rooms are spacious, elegantly furnished, and very comfortable." Another guest, Ashu, noted the rooms were "excellent - clean, spacious, and far better than what you usually get in this budget." The staff, including Josh and Lung, are often mentioned by guests for being helpful and friendly.

“I stayed at this property, very close to Mawlynnong — Asia’s cleanest village — and had a really good experience. We reached around 7 PM, and in the Khasi district during November, it gets dark by 5 PM, so arriving felt like late night already. The place has a homestay vibe and feels warm and welcoming. Rooms start at ₹1500, and you can negotiate the price a...”

Around the stay

Things to do nearby.

The home is a good point from which to explore the southern Khasi Hills. Mawlynnong, famed as Asia's cleanest village, is just a kilometre away. From there, you can also access the Riwai sky walk for views over the canopy. The famous living root bridges are a key sight. While the Nongriat double-decker bridge requires a 3,500-step descent, the single-decker Riwai bridge is a much shorter walk from the property.

Further afield, you can drive towards Cherrapunji (Sohra) to explore the Mawsmai and Krem Phyllut caves, or to see Nohkalikai Falls, India's tallest plunge waterfall at 340 metres. A day trip to Dawki takes you to the Umngot river, whose water runs famously clear from January to March, right on the border with Bangladesh.

Logistics

Getting there.

By rail: The nearest major railway station is in Guwahati. There is no rail connectivity in Meghalaya itself.

By road: Shillong is the state capital and the central hub for reaching Mawlynnong, Cherrapunji, and Dawki. The property is located on the main road to Mawlynnong.

Seasons

Best time to visit.

The best season to visit is from October to April, when the skies are clearer and the weather is dry. The monsoon, from June to September, brings over 10,000mm of rain. During this time, some waterfalls and caves may be inaccessible, but the landscape is a deep, unmatched green.
