“A quiet home in Palampur, a short 100-metre walk from the road. The rooms are clean and simple, with views of the mountains. The only sounds are birds and distant temple bells. Rajesh cooks simple, homely meals, including local Himachali dishes. Two friendly shih tzus often greet guests on arrival.”

Seasons

Best time to visit.

The clearest weather in Himachal is from March to June, as the snow melts and summer arrives, and again from September to November, when the skies are crisp and clear. The monsoon months of July and August bring heavy rain and the risk of landslides on major highways like NH-3 and NH-21. From December to February, higher altitude areas see snowfall, and the cold sets in across the state.
