Homestay in Gangtok, Sikkim. A quiet mountain base.
Things to do nearby.
The home is a starting point for some of Sikkim's most visited sites. A local taxi can be arranged for day trips.
Siddheshwar Dham, often called the Char Dham of Sikkim, is in Namchi, a few hours' drive from Gangtok. The complex has a towering statue of Lord Shiva, surrounded by replicas of the twelve Jyotirlingas and the four Dhams. It sits on a hill, with wide views of the surrounding landscape.
The Buddha Park of Ravangla is another day trip. A 130-foot statue of the Buddha sits in the center of a landscaped park, with the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas, including Mount Kanchenjunga, visible in the background on a clear day. The atmosphere is quiet, good for a slow walk.
Closer to Gangtok is Banjhakri Falls and Energy Park. The waterfall is the main draw, especially during the monsoon season. It’s a popular spot for local families and tourists, with pathways winding through the green space around the falls.
