The home spans three separate wooden A-frame structures set across grassy grounds. Each structure houses a bedroom with a double bed, pitched timber ceilings, and attached bathrooms, accommodating up to six guests across three beds and three bathrooms. Large glass doors open straight onto private steps, letting cold mountain air in during early mornings and keeping the interior warm as the sun heats the timber frame through the afternoon. The garden pool sits paved in river stone tiles, framed by fruit trees and outdoor seating for quiet afternoons under the sun. Service at the home is personal and unhurried. Lidder River runs through Pahalgam town just a short walk or drive away. The riverbanks offer cold water walks, trout fishing spots, and quiet banks to sit by the rushing mountain water.

Betaab Valley sits 7km up the road, named after the Hindi film shot across its clear river meadows. It is an easy half-day trip for families looking to walk through wide lawns bordered by pine forests.

Aru Valley lies 12km north through a winding forest road of tall pines. Sitting at 2,400m altitude, the meadow village serves as the starting point for mountain walks and the longer Kolahoi glacier trek.

Baisaran sits 5km uphill from Pahalgam, often called Mini Switzerland for its wide alpine clearing surrounded by dense pine trees. You can reach the meadow on foot or hire local ponies for the steep trail up.

Chandanwari is located 16km along the valley road. It marks the official starting point of the annual Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage and remains a popular snow point through early summer.

Tulian Lake trek offers a full-day hike for experienced walkers. The 16km return trail climbs up to an alpine lake set at 3,353m altitude between rocky mountain peaks.

Mamleshwar Temple stands in Pahalgam village itself. Dating back to the 12th century, this stone shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva sits quietly near the riverbank.

Getting there.

Srinagar Airport (SXR) is the nearest airport, located 95km away. The drive takes around 3 hours via Anantnag, moving from highway roads into the Lidder Valley climb.

Banihal Railhead is the closest main railway connection at 110km, linked through the mountain tunnel network. Alternatively, travelers often take trains to Jammu Tawi and hire taxis up to Pahalgam.

Anantnag sits 45km away as the main district headquarters and last major market town before entering the Pahalgam valley road.

Best time to visit.

April through October brings the best weather across Pahalgam and the Lidder Valley. Spring months of April and May see blooming trees and crisp mountain air. Summer brings green rice fields and cool poolside afternoons. July and August coincide with the Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage, bringing heavy movement along valley roads. From November through March, cold weather settles in and snow blocks higher mountain trails.
