The only way in is by water. A shikara brings you across the lake, away from the road, to a home that floats. The sound is the gentle lap of water against deodar wood. Mornings are for watching other boats pass by from the small deck, a cup of tea in hand. The home is built in a traditional Kashmiri style, with carved wood details along the exterior and windows that look out onto the water and the mountains beyond. It is a place to slow down, to watch the light change on the lake from sunrise to sunset.
