A look around
What's here
The only sound is the wind moving through the pine and deodar trees. This home sits on a steep hilltop, away from the traffic and noise of the main towns. The property is made up of a main house and a separate cabin, with a wide lawn and a fire pit connecting them. There are eight bedrooms in total, each with its own attached bathroom, accommodating up to sixteen guests. The rooms are simple, clean, and warm. The real draw is what’s outside, with views of the hills from the balconies and seating areas. The host, Dinesh, lives on the property with his family. Guests often say he is the highlight of the stay, a guide and a friend who shares stories about the region. The food is another. Every meal is cooked in the family kitchen, with a focus on fresh, local Himachali dishes. As one guest, Anirban, put it, this is "a delight of a homestay. Picturesque location on a steep hilltop, surrounded by pines, deodars and silence." Another guest, Mohit, noted that "every meal was prepared with such care and flavor that it felt like a true feast." It’s a place for people who know how to enjoy a quiet vacation, with walks in the forest and long conversations.

Things to do nearby.

The home is surrounded by forest, with jungle trails starting right from the property. A short walk through the pines leads to the Naldehra golf course, one of the oldest in India.

The state capital, Shimla, is a drive away. You can spend a day exploring the colonial architecture of the Viceregal Lodge, walking down the Mall Road, or visiting the Jakhu Temple with its large Hanuman statue. For a different approach to Shimla, take the UNESCO-listed Kalka-Shimla toy train, a slow, scenic journey through more than a hundred tunnels.
